Possible Configurations

The wide variety of stringers, carrier rail types and brackets with the different accessories allow different ways to configure the 84R Sun Louvre system. The wall/façade mounts are usually designed and manufactured by the installer, a standard bracket is available.

Installation

Luxalon® 84R Sun Louvre system allows easy and quick installation with very few tools. The C-shaped panels lock onto the brackets/stringers with a positive click. Once the steel brackets have been fitted to the façade, the carrier profiles with brackets/stringers are easily fixed. The fascia (option) is fixed to the ends of the carrier profiles. Finally, the C-shaped panels are fitted to the carrier profiles in full length sections; cutting is only necessary at the end of the façade. The bracket/stringer allows the panel to be snapped into place with no tool required.

There are two graphs per wind load type based on the application. If a continuous Sun Louvre system is used the ‘3 carriers or more’ graph should be used. If only ‘2 carriers’ are used, use the ‘2 carriers’ graph. Snow load calculations are identical to the calculations for wind load.

Note: Calculating the value of the local wind load is the responsibility of the installer who must taking into account the regulations laid down by local authorities. For corners, roof edges or special designs, wind pressure/suction will be determined with due consideration of the relevant local country’s Standard Code of Building Practice.

Material Specifications

- Base Material
Luxalon® 84R Sun Louvre panels are roll formed from 0.6 mm thick pre-painted stove enamelled aluminium strip of a corrosion resistant alloy EN-AW-3005 or equivalent (according to EN1396 and ECCA). All aluminium products can be recycled for the full 100% requiring very little energy.

- Finishes
Luxalon® has developed special products for the exterior environment which have properties capable of meeting the severe requirements of external use. The products come with a special high quality surface treatment: Luxacote®. The panels get a unique finishing touch with our own industrial coil coating processes. Independent tests have proven the excellent characteristics of Luxacote®.
• Colour and gloss stability. The topcoat contains a solid UV filter which provides optimum colourfastness
• Abrasion resistance. The topcoat also offers excellent resistance against scratches and the fine structure hides minor damage incurred during installation
• Corrosion resistance. The alloy and pre-treatment ensure optimal corrosion resistance. Luxalon® products have been subjected to real-life test as well as laboratory corrosion and UV tests

Insect screens

Description

Insect Screens are used to eliminate all the inconveniences caused by insects that enter into your home or office. The manufacturing possibilities are multiple, taking in consideration the specifications of the beneficiary. They are very adaptable to different applications and sizes both domestic or for the public sector.

The vertical operation system is made with a tighten mechanism of the insect screen with an aluminum tube that allows the rolling of the entire insect screen within the cassette mechanism located in the upper part of the window.

The lateral operation system is similar to the vertical one, the only difference being that the insect screen rolls inside the protection case located on the lateral part of the screen. This type of command is usually used for doors because the effort necessary for opening the screen is lower.

The installation possibilities are multiple and adaptable to the needs of our customers and the manufacturing dimensions are exactly the ones you require.

Command system (for the mobile screen)
The command system can be made in two construction versions:

  • vertical command system
  • lateral command system

The vertical command system is made with a tighten mechanism of the insect screen with an axle which allows the rolling of the entire insect screen within the protection case located in the upper part of the window.
When you want to close the insect screen it is enough to pull the chain which equips the screen and the screen will close. The screen closing rod is fitted with a simple blocking mechanism. When the rod reaches the lower end of the course the blocking mechanism starts and the rod remains blocked in that position. It is enough to slightly rotate the closing rod using its handle for the mechanism to allow the unblocking of the rod and the screen to roll due to the spring mechanism within the protection case.

The lateral command system is made with a tighten mechanism of the insect screen with an axle which allows the rolling of the entire insect screen within the protection case located in the lateral part of the screen. This type of command is usually used for doors (the effort necessary for opening such a screen is lower).

  • monthly elimination of the dust of the screen is recommended using a brush or an electrostatic duster.
  • quarterly, after eliminating the dust, the screen will be cleaned by wiping with a sponge or soft humid cloth.

Security devices

The security is highly increased due to the special mechanical resistance of the material. It is fitted with blocking systems which do not allow manual elevation (forced), from the exterior of the garage door. May be fitted with special anti-robbery blocking system. The door guiding systems are made of extruded aluminum, especially resistant to forcing.

The ventilation slats provide the maintenance of an optimum climate within the garage allowing the noxes to be eliminated, assuring a corresponding humidity level, etc.

Operating systems

The electric operating system allows the elevation of these doors through a simple push of a button, the doors being fitted with electric motor.

The command system is especially compact and resistant (being inserted in the axle of the garage door), is powered at 220V. In the standard version, the door is equipped with a motor and a three position switch which allows the lifting/lowering of doors.

The electric system may be equipped with a device that allows the manual command of the garage doors even if the power supply is not available.

Sliding system of the garage door:
This type of door is built in order to be mounted also in garages which do not have “generous” dimensions and the high change of the used dimensions of the door is not possible.
Practically, due to the special construction characteristics such a door can be mounted in garages where the height (garage light) is low, the system using only 5 cm in the upper part in order to function. In the lateral part it needs 13cm for the garage door to be able to change the sliding plan so the width is minimally affected. The angle between the two plans (the front and lateral one) may be between 75 and 105 degrees.

Periodically you must check the lower slide side. The first slat of the door is equipped with a cleaning system for the guiding mechanism, but under special weather conditions one should verify the loading degree of the lower rail.

Security devices
The security is largely increased due to the special mechanic resistance of the material. It is equipped with blocking systems which do not allow the manual opening (forced), from the exterior of the garage door. When the motor is not powered it is blocked determining the blocking of the forced door opening possibility.

The command system also includes an anti-forcing system which takes actions when the door begins to be opened using force and commands the door to function in order to close the door.
The door’s guiding mechanisms are made of extruded aluminum, especially resistant to forcing.

Also, such a door is equipped with improved safety systems. If, for example, when closing the door, this reaches an object within its operation range the door stops and reverses its sense of movement and stops. Under these conditions it is very clear that possible accidents caused by the existence of an object within the operation range of the door can be avoided.

Operating system
The sliding system allows a simple operation, very silent of the garage door. Practically the curtain of the garage door is suspended on a rolling system which slides vertically within the upper guiding mechanism. In the lower part the door is only guided by a rolling system which slides horizontally within the lower guiding mechanism.

The electric command system allows these doors to be opened by a simple push of a button, the doors being equipped with an electric traction motor.
The command system is especially compact and resistant and is powered at 220V.
The motor is in fact a 24Vcc motor, especially compact and resistant, with low energy consumption and very compact.
In the standard version the door is equipped with a command system which includes a remote control system which allows the opening/closing of the door. The remote control has two keys, one for the complete opening/closing command and the other one for the partial opening/closing command which represents another advantage of this type of door because it allows an easy pedestrian access to the garage. Practically the door does not have to be opened completely for the pedestrians to enter the garage but only for a sufficient part for the access of the respective persons.
Also the command system has an interior light system of the garage which only functions a couple of minutes after using the remote control.
The command can be also made using a simple switch, a key switch or a card or keys control system.
The electric system is equipped with an unblocking device for the action of the electric motor that allows the manual opening/closing of the garage door even if the electricity supply is not available.
The unblocking of the motor can also be made from the exterior of the garage, which is extremely appreciated if there is no other access door to the garage.
This type of garage doors observes all the European manufacturing and operation standards.

All of the above boxes can be used with all the range of VARIMAXX roller shutters, both the mini variant and the maxi variant, but also with the mini variant with the built-in insect net.

Choosing the box type, according to the Slat type, the axis type used and the height of the shutters is set by the following table:


Guides of the roller shutters:

Type of material: extruded aluminum comes with sealing gasket or brush, both on the inside and outside.

Guide colors: possibility to choose from a wide range of colors (in stock: white, dark brown, grey)

Maximum length: depending on the size of the shutters (but no bigger that 4 linear meters, for VARIMAXX mini and 3 linear meters for VARIMAXX maxi).

Guides used allow fixation of the shutters both on the level of the window frame and also on the level of the joiner (depending on the concrete conditions of assembly)

The usage of bicameral guides allows the “hiding” and concealing of the screw head therefore it will no longer be a spoiling element of the overall image of the shutters and doesn’t allow the moving elements of the shutters to get stuck in it.

The role of the gasket or sealing brush is to accomplish a better sealing, but also to secure an easier sliding of the Slats, due to the fact that it reduces friction between the Slats and the guide. Also the gasket or sealing brush attenuates noise produced by shutters.

Blocking devices

One of the benefits of using the aluminum roller shutters is ensuring an additional protection.
Generally, any roller shutter of VARIMAXX range, in the standard version, may be blocked in the shut position. The blocking is carried out with the aid of the elastic slats fixing the roller shutter’s slats on the axle. When the roller is pushed up from the outside, the elastic slats “catch” the slats which cannot be pushed up. However, due to the fact that the height of the roller shutter is not always a multiple of a slat width, it is often possible that the roller shutter can be pushed up a width of a slat at the most. This can be bothersome so special protection devices are used.

There are many devices to completely block the roller shutter in the shut position and it can’t be unblocked to be pushed up only from the inside.
The simplest blocking device is the one with pins in the closing bar. This device uses two pins sliding at the closing bar level. When the blocking of the roller shutter is desired in the shut position, the two pins are pushed towards the sides, they slide and enter in the holes from the bottom of the guides. When the unblocking is desired, the two pins are pushed to the inside, the closing bar unblocks and the roller shutter can be pushed up.
The advantage of this system is that it is simple and so the process is extremely small.
The disadvantages of its use are that the operation of the roller shutter from the inside does not lead to the unblocking of the roller shutter (the unblocking, a separate operation, must be carried out before operating the roller shutter).

The disadvantages of this blocking system do not recommend it in the case of the roller shutters operated with and electric motor. In this case the pushing up of the motor can be easily controlled, the system not being blocked, and in this case the roller will be undoubtedly damaged.
A second protection system is the GARANT system.

This system uses a device located at the level of the
first Slat of the roller shutter. In the shut position of the roller shutter, the mobile elements of the blocking device enter at the level of the blocking elements inserted at the guides’ level and prevent its raising. When the axle is rotated (which is possible only from the inside), with the aid of the manual or electric operating device, the mobile elements of the blocking device draw back to the level of the first Slat and allow the roller shutter to be pushed up.

The advantage of this system is that it can be used in the manually operated version, as well as in the electrically operated version, without any problems.
The disadvantage is that it is a fairly complex system and its adjustment must be carried out carefully.

A third system is the SOMFY device, which can be used only with electric roller shutters or manual roller shutters with cranks (not with the roller shutters manually operated with bands). When the roller shutter reaches the lowest position, the axle is blocked and the device is a little strained. When the roller shutter is thrust back order to push it up, the blocking system is damaged and cannot be pushed up (as long as the axle is fixed). When the roller shutter is pushed up from the inside, thus the axle rotates, the device is unblocked and the roller shutter works normally.

The advantage of this system is that it is very simple and thus it can be adjusted easily and works flawlessly. The major disadvantage is that it cannot be used with the roller shutters manually operated with bands.

If the actuator mechanism is electric and an additional blocking system is used, the protection of the roller shutter may be increased by using centralized and programmable control systems.

Using such a control system, the owner of a residence can be sure that all the roller shutters may be closed using one button and, if desired, the roller shutters may be programmed to be closed and opened.

Operating system

The operating system is designed to ensure a quick operation with the smallest possible effort. The design of the operating system allows its adaptation to the roller shutters installed in boxes at the street front level, as well as to those with their own box.

According to the weight of the roller shutter, in order to ensure an easy operation, the driving system may be with band, with rack rail or with electric motor.
The electric operating system is far superior to all the others, as it allows a very easy and simple operation and, in addition, it may be integrated in complex operating systems.
Also, the operation of the electric system may be done only with a simple switch, as well as with a remote control or with a programmable system.

Exterior Blinds

Because Exterior Blinds are installed on the outside of the building, they offer better sun protection and an increased light control allowing fine-tuning of the aluminum slats.

They can have slat widths of 80 mm or 60 mm in order to adapt to a wide range of applications, being suited both for office buildings or industrial plants as well as housing. Besides the advantages concerning sun shading that exterior blinds provide, they also integrate very well into the building’s architecture giving it a modern and professional appearance.

They have an increased stability due both to the resistance of the slats and also because of the side guides that support the blind and protect it from strong wind that can occur so that the blind remains in place. Operating system

The operating system can be done in two different manners:

  • manual operating system
  • electric operating system

The Simple manual operating system is performed with a blind rotating system, driven with a handle. This system allows the rotation of the blinds (on a large drive range, of almost 360°), but also the regulation of the light flow that passes through the blind.

It is also possible to completely elevate the blind, in case it is necessary.
The angle of the manual rotating mechanism can be of 90° or of 45°, according to the specific conditions of installation.

The electric operating system allows the slats’ rotation and lifting by simply pressing the button. The electric operation is performed with a motor, introduced in the headrail. The system is furnished with a mechanism that allows the limitation of the blind movement (allows opening/lifting of the blind between pre-established limits – which can be identical to the blind dimensions or can be different from those. Optionally, the system can be provided with a system that allows the fine regulation of the slat rotation angle (in order to obtain a fine regulation of the luminous flow that passes through the blind).

Operating command can be performed using a simple switch, with two positions (up / down), or by using an infrared remote control system. Also, there can be realized more complex remote control systems, for example centralized control systems for various blinds.

The operation system:

The operation system is designed so as to provide easy operation with minimal effort.

The operation system can be realized in two variants:

  • Manual operation system
  • Electric operation system

The manual operation system allows rotation of the awning’s axle (rotation of the axle in one direction determines the gathering of the fabric and the awning closing, while the rotation of the axle in opposite direction determined the awning opening – the unrolling being determined by the stretch of the retractable arms).

The mechanism has a drive ratio selected in a way that the effort required for operating the awning is minimized.

The electric operation system

When driving the awnings with retractable arms are used motors of the kind of exterior roller shutters (rotation of the axle in one direction determines the gathering of the fabric and the awning closing, while the rotation of the axle in opposite direction determined the awning opening – the unrolling being determined by the stretch of the retractable arms).

In general the electric drive system is based on a 220Vca motor, asynchronous with two windings. The operating principle is simple: supplying one of the phases the motor rotates in a sense, while feeding the other phase, the motor rotates in reverse direction. Engines, regardless of their type, can be also made in the variant where has been designed a special manual rotation mechanism.

These variants are used in the conditions in which the motor of the awning is intended to be operated manual (in particular as solution in case of damage, in the absence of electric current). The control system can be achieved with a simple switch or with remote control systems (radio waves).
The control system must provide power to one or other of the two phases of the engine (but by no means at the same time) and can be achieved in both variants: wired in RTS technology.

In the case of the awnings are used control systems with light and wind sensor: when exceeding the brightness threshold, the awning opens and when the wind starts to blow the awning tightens (the wind sensor is a priority in operation)

Technical details

Stratified wood windows combine the qualities of traditional wood windows with those of modern windows.

By using stratified wood profiles can be obtained windows with a high degree of thermal insulation (1.1 – 1.8K/m2k), with a very good acoustic insulation degree (R=34dB), with an exceptional stability of forms and dimensions (given by the relative humidity of the wood of 8 ^ 12%), in a diverse range of colors. When executing the standard windows are used triple stratified semi-products, in oak or resin essences, and upon request also available semi-products made in other types of wood.

The profile used for windows is achieved by combining in teeth and press bonding with ecologic adhesives, achieving a strong pillar, perfectly stable. The size of the used profile: 64 x 85 mm.

The high degree of reliability and good sealing is the result of using a very efficient hardware system (specially designed seals mounted on the frame, made of modified elastic polymer, resistant to wear, with a delayed aging capacity, thus guaranteeing for many years the provision of a good sealing). Seal color will match the finish of the executed windows.

The hardware system provides an easy handling of doors and windows being available in the variant with side opening, swing, tilt-sliding and by the additional elements (ventilation device, window handle with key closing option) provides the satisfaction of more special exigencies.

Using adjustable hardware systems there is the possibility of realizing some fine tuning, thus providing flawless operation of the moving parts. Wood protection to the action of external factors is achieved by using a priming system based on an elastic primer, the use of dyes and varnishes resistant to boiling out, with high UV protection. In this case, the wood is specially treated (fungicidally and insecticidally) and protected against humidity.

The windows are fitted with thermopane glass, in a wide range, from the thermopane glass 4+12+4 mm float, being a multitude of choices regarding the type of glass used (transparent, colored, reflective, anti-efraction, sandblasted, curved, etc..) and the insulated properties of that glass (with a coefficient of thermal insulation of at least 1.1K/m2k). Depending on each case in part, can be mounted decorative rods between the two glass surfaces.

The glass is mounted in silicone bed resistant to bad weather conditions, thus providing full and durable sealing.
The thermopane glass shall be fixed and mounted in the fixed frame or mobile frame by means of special rods on which is stuck an EPDM gasket. Rods are made of wood with the same qualitative and technical standards as the rest of the wooden material used in the manufacture of windows.

Genarally the applications where are used aluminum window systems can be divided into two big categories:

In terms of the type of profile, can be remembered several categories of profiles:

  • aluminum profiles without thermal barrier
  • aluminum profile with thermal barrier
  • hybrid profile (interior wood, exterior aluminum)

For profiles with polyamide thermal barrier is eliminated the thermal conductivity of the metal, providing a thermal coefficient close to that of PVC systems. Size of the thermal barrier depends on the application where will be used those profiles.
The high degree of reliability and good sealing is a result of using a particular hardware system and an advanced sealing system (formed of more seals specially profiled mounted on the frame, made of EPDM, resistant to wear, with delayed aging capacity, guaranteeing thus good sealing for many years). The sealing color can be chosen to be in tone with the finish of the windows executed.

We provide a seal against water and wind in accordance with the existing standards in the field.

The hardware system provides an easy handling of doors and windows being available in the variant with side opening, swing, tilt-sliding and by the additional elements (ventilation device, window handle with key closing option) provides the satisfaction of more special exigencies.

Using adjustable hardware systems there is the possibility of realizing some fine tuning, thus providing flawless operation of the moving parts.The hardware presents special safety systems, of protection from wrong driving, such as the existence of a mechanism for lifting the frame that also assures the protection against any wrong operation for the tilt-sliding and swing windows (at the swing it is just a lifting piece).
The handles with beautiful shapes, ergonomic, adaptable hinge systems on a wide range of profiles, curved design that fits in the assembly of the modern window are characteristics that also define the used hardware. One can use hardware systems with special properties in the field of protection against intrusion, using special safety items (closures in several points, special hinge systems, etc.).

MB-70HI

As a response to the growing demand for building products with high thermal insulation, windows and doors with thermal break systems have been developed MB-70HI, MB-70US HI and windows built into the curtain wall system MB-70CW HI . Their design is based on a system known for its srength and durability, the MB-70, MB-70US and MB-70CW.

Thermal insulation of the system is much larger than the thermal insulation of the base system, so that constructions using MB-70HI system, Uf factor is 1.0 – 2.3 W / m²K, depending on the profiles and accessory used.

Increased thermal insulation is achieved through special isolation room placed in the middle, joining the aluminum profiles. Profile of insulation is characterized by low values of thermal conductivity and reduce heat flow. The central location also limits the contributions of convection and thermal radiation.

The windows and doors system MB-70HI, as in the case of the basic system can be used both in individual solutions, as well as the facades of aluminum, where the junction between the upright and the straight edge part of the system, MB-SR50 HI isolation improved heat.

MB-70

MB-70 is a modern aluminum system that is used for the the execution of architectural elements that require thermal and acoustic insulation, such as various types of windows, doors, windows, structural construction etc.

The system profiles are divided into three rooms, building a profile depth is 70 mm for windows and 79 mm for the sash frame and doors 70 mm and 70 mm. If tread depth of sash and frame give the effect of one surface from the outside after closing – in the case of the window, and the effect of a doubling of the sash and frame surface – if the door. The shape of the profiles enables the construction of doors and windows and esthetics. The MB-70 system is also possible of windows with so-called “hidden casement” MB-70 and MB-70 Industrial US, which is great postindustrial modernization of buildings, history and monuments.

The MB-70 is characterized by a low coefficient of heat transfer U – due to the use of special heating and gaskets. This is very important when the requirements of energy saving and environmental protection are becoming increasingly demanding. The system profiles meet the thermal requirements of material group 1 for Windows and 2.1 for doors, according to DIN 4108. thermal bridges used in this system is shaped like the letter “omega” width of 34 mm to 24 mm for windows and doors, made of polyamide reinforced with glass fibers. The specific shape of the polyamide increases the rigidity of profiles compared with polyamides and facilitates drainage of flat sections, while ensuring an adequate thermal insulation in any weather conditions. Thermal compartments used in windows are additionally sealed.

Due to inter alia the use of such forms of thermal compartments for increasing the thermal insulation is not necessary to complete the surface of this foam.

Sealing is ensured through the use of special seals of two-component EPDM synthetic rubber: solid and cellular, which guarantees aging resistance during long operation and a very good thermal insulation. MB-70 is the first system that has been used to achieve the center seal material.

The system allows the use of glass packages with between 21 and 57 mm thickness for windows and between 12 and 48 mm for fixed panels or doors. A wide range of both filling guarantees the possibility to use all types of standard or non-standard windows.

Wide assortment of colors in the standard can satisfy the most demanding customers.

The MB-70 possesses the technical approval of the construction techniques of the Institute (ITB) for windows and balcony doors (AT-15-4647 / 2000)

MB-77HS

Lif and slide doors are an ideal solution for connections between rooms or greenhouses with the outside environment, providing a convenient exit to the balcony, terrace or garden. MB-SR50

Due to a rich offer of profiles , architects and designers can realize the most avant-garde ideas in the construction of aluminum and glass.

The system is intended for building and implementing protective walls easily, and roofs, skylights and other structures.

Form pillars and struts permit to construct aesthetic facades with slender lines of separation visible, while ensuring strength and durability of construction. In addition, the profiles have rounded outer corners, allowing the creation of the effect of the so-called “soft-line”.

The large number of mullions and rods available in the system guarantees optimal aluminum consumption. Due sectional shape optimization and choosing the appropriate thickness of the wall were obtained economic profiles. In the case of high stresses on all the posts may be established on the inside with aluminum typical, leading to increasing their resistance. Easy processing of profiles reduces preparation time, eliminating any cuts in the side surfaces of the uprights.

The use of thermal barrier material made of HPCV continue and the trim of the EPDM allows achieving a RMG 2.1 insulation class according to DIN 4108.

To bottle the coefficients of the frame is RD = 2.21 [W / (m2 * K] which allows to obtain a temperature of -10 ° C to the outer surface of the column and minimizes the phenomenon of condensation of water vapor on the elements aluminum.

In order to achieve the curved angular curtain wall in the vertical and / or horizontal profiles have been provided for special sealing and masking, which leads to lack of forming the limits of the building body and eliminates the need for use of special angular pillars. The accessories shipped with the system, brackets and aluminum joint that secures the wall construction of the building are made of aluminum alloy AlMgSi0,5F22.

If MB-SR50 based facades can use masking profiles of different shapes. A very aesthetic façade variation is the so-called vertical and horizontal lines, which emphasizes sharing – vertical or horizontal. This system is also the basis for other solutions: wall “semi-structural” MB-SR50 EFEKT, the façade of “Industrial” building used for application to a skeleton of a wood or steel (MB-SR50 A) and facades where the glass plates are used for post stiffener construction. For these types, besides the elements that open the standard mode can be used or the folding roof windows which are based on structural wall system MB-SR50.
